Matthew White most recently served as the Executive Director of the American Archive at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, where he conducted a historic inventory of public TV and radio archives, generating 2.5 million records from 120 distinct locations. As the Executive Vice President for Digital Markets at National Geographic Ventures, White was instrumental in developing the Society's digital media strategies, and leveraged its television archives to participate in global broadband platforms, video games, mobile content networks, and video-based educational initiatives. White founded the WPA Film Library in 1986, and was a founder and first President of the Association of Commercial Stock Images Licensors(ACSIL). in addition to the business activities, White was a founding committee members of the United Nation's initiative, Archives at Risk, which advocates for the preservation of distressed audio-visual archives throughout the world.
Matthew White & Assoc. LLC has contracted with global media organizations to develop business opportunities in educational and digital media, and to manage complex asset management projects involving the transition of film & video archives to digital and HD media. These clients include Smithsonian Networks, BBC Motion Gallery, the National Film Board of Canada, WNET-Channel 13, NHK, and Institut National de l'Audivisuel.
